Video: Creating Dramatic Atmosphere in Landscapes
If you enjoyed the demo, you might be interested in the full 7-hour instructional video I filmed on emphasizing atmosphere in your paintings. It was released in February 2018 and sold out on day 2 of the Plein Air Convention. It's in stock online and available for streaming, too.
Instructional Video
It is the landscape artist's central challenge to give a painting a dynamic sense of light and atmospheric movement. In this DVD, I’ll show you how to use both photos and plein air studies to depict moving atmosphere in a studio painting.
You will also learn valuable tools for becoming an effective self-critic. I draw from my background as a mostly self-taught artist to share my approach to critiquing work in progress—an essential tool for any artist's growth.
